i rang A in toronto last night, to tell her abt ken and me on the radio, as she first introduced, and was catching her up on stuff: she asked how my flat was, and i talked abt the piano and she instantly went into declare-my-phobias mode:

turns out she hates MONKEYS AND APES (even cartoons of same), CASSOULET, and the IDEA OF PIANOS NEARBY -- in case late at night they start playing themselves!

Did you know that if you set a monkey at a piano keyboard for a thousand years at some point he would play "Basin Street Blues"? (Would also play "My Ding A Ling," but we won't go into that.)
