Feb. 17th, 2012 04:17 pmI wrote this piece on Freaky Trigger about my dad, to coincide with Mike Dibb’s documentary on the jazz saxophonist Barbara Thompson, and how Parkinson’s disease affects her playing life. Please let people know that you think would be interested.

As if I haven't got enough on my plate, I've begun a series of posts on the disgraced children's author William Mayne, whose books my mother and I loved when I was a teenager. The eventual plan is to reread them all -- so don't expect a hurried pace of posting or anything, he wrote more than 100, and I only own about 20.
