6. What dual enterprise:

i: produced 693?
ii: has come to manage without corporal liberation?
iii: started with the well-heeled clientele of Eastbourne?
iv: moved to magnificent premises next to Marylebone Lane?
v: combined one of Queen Anne’s footmen and a Somerset House porter?
vi: began when two pharmacists were inspired by a gourmet’s Bengali experience?
vii: confusingly operates under the sign of the coffee-grinder?
viii: after 86 years brought Aquila chrysaetos to the Borders?
ix: had its foundation in a Bolognese’s pursuit of a diva?
x: was a favourite West End meeting place?

I suspect one of them - either iv or v most likely - is Fortnum and Mason.

None of them appear to be Marks & Spencer, but i could be I suppose.

So I guess they're all - & - shops, but that's all I've got.

No, but Google Maps (is that also cheating?) says that the enormous Debenhams is at the south end of Marylebone Lane.

Goggle reveals that Aquila chrysaetos is the Golden Eagle, so I think viii must be Lyle & Scott.

(via a hint and then Google)
"693" was the Code No. under which Sulfapyridine aka M&B, once used to treat pneumonia, was logged by May & Baker
