As far as I can tell, these are all failed assassination attempts. I'm reasonably sure the intended victim in vi was Hitler, and the anniversary was that of something relating to the Beer-Hall Putsch or his imprisonment; but I cannot remember who the would-be assassin was. (NB: This is not the Valkyrie plot; that was about 4 years later.)

I've now been able to confirm that this was the Munich Bürgerbräukeller attack, by Johann Georg Elser, on the 16th anniversary of the Beer Hall Putsch. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Georg_Elser)

Isn't x the Queen's Day attack in the Netherlands the other year? Intended victim was Queen Wilhelmine, I think. Again, no idea of the assailant's name.

Er, Queen Beatrix, obviously. Who was alive at the time.

And still is!

The would-be assassin was Karst Tates, and as far as I know, no-one still has any idea what his motive is - recently found work, big fan of the royal family, looking forward to his mother's birthday. Also scouted out the route - the street he drove down had been cordoned off earlier.

I know v: is not the Moldavian Wedding Massacre in Dynasty but I am now imagining the terrorists as mild-mannered librarians complete w/ tweed and horn-rimmed specs :)

I believe ix. is an assassination attempt on George III at the Theatre Royal. I don't know who the attacker was, though.
