the toyah book is very special -- i got it for 1p from a sale at hackney library, pub. proteus in 1981, it is designed by rocking russian, no less, but has the feel of a vanity publication -- certainly it never saw an editor

the author is one g4yn4 evans, and it's the new romantic answer to nabokov's pale fire:
"She is a great lover of seafoods especially Octopus, personally I can't stand the stuff but we're not talking about me, are we? Oh, her favourite drink is freshly squeezed organce juice, mmmm I like that."

mmm v. jealous of that david pirie VAMPIRE CINEMA bk - it is hard to fine, and features many excellent and entirely necessary stills from eg the films of Jean Rollin - i remember furtively browsing a copy of it in the late 70s in Words and Music on the Charing X Rd and having my teenage mind etc
