i like the idea of it enormously but somehow the thing itself i never get anywhere with

Have trouble getting beyond the first 50 pages of Tristram Shandy myself, so this is not a surprise (though I wouldn't say it's bad, and I think I would quite like Sterne as an occasional unintentional troll on ilX or poptimists).
