u will have noticed i have allowed myself an hyewge flood of extra work recently, as part of a project of repositioning myself to be better paid and revered world-wide blah blah

this is (so far) sorta kinda totally working out well (this month -- which i suspect be an upper-end hard-to-repeat blip) i will be paid something like 4 x as much for less than twice the work (ie about what i actually ought to be earning, experience-wise)

it means of course that i am already feeling significant pangs of resentment at not having time to get on with writing i actually want to do: i owe FT about six posts, none of them even very long, i have a big essay on black science fiction (revisited) due by end of march, and only abt a week free to research and write it -- not actually being paid for it either -- and i am weeks behind on frank's kuhn-stuff

plus lollards is abt to re-start, and eli and i have a slugs idea which is now three months behind schedule

there's an add-on to firefox which allows you to take screenshots of the whole of an open webpage -- i have it at work or i'd put a link here -- and then you just print out the screenshot... it's quite timeconsuming (i wouldn't advise it for more than 25 pages really, as you can only do one page at a timne) and each page obviously retains a kind of googloid hem or frame, but yes, it does very neatly and tidily

Oh, and now it seems as if there's no way to download anymore, though the podcasts are still around, but now I can't have extra sluglords cluttering up my hard drive.

Actually seems as if I'm missing the entire second half (episodes 9 through 16) and also missing episode 3 (the Asimov, though I've listened to it, just don't think I ever downloaded).

Do you know why they can no longer be downloaded from the site? Is that a temporary glitch at Freaky Trigger or a permanent problem?

this issue just came up on the admin discussion board -- because we've moved to a paid server i know we had to downsize the number of mp3s we could permanently host (so the pop world cup links have al died i think), but i thought slugds and lollards were ringfenced -- it may just be a temporary thing

As I understand it the add-on we were using to make MP3s downloadable was breaking lots of other things. So we're going to replace it - and the radio shows will be first to benefit. This will happen when Alan has time I guess, but hopefully soon!
