Dec. 30th, 2008 02:50 pmbah my macbook will not shut down properly -- it keeps telling me to "quit finder" then logout but i cannot do the first
viz with "force quit" the only option it gives is "relaunch" and anyway it won't do this
verify disk v0mited the above message -- forums suggest i should try and repair/rebuild from a difft disk (which i have one back in london), if no go then back up and reinstall
(or just take to apple to mend)
question: presumably the battery will run down if i just close it up and unplug it (ie for the train journey) w/o shutting down properly (it won't go onto sleep)

Date: 2008-12-30 05:23 pm (UTC)but i can shut it down by pressing the turn-off button for long time, and (so far) it starts up again -- so i can turn it off for the train journey and not run down the battery, and if it doesn't start uop when i get back to london, take it straight into apple
