war on books, two fronts

dubdobdeei: i discovered the mice are chewing the edges of the books on the lowest shelf
ii: while there i found a book i hadn't thought about for ages and took it to read in the bath, got soap in my eyes, grabbed the towel, flipped the book into the bath w/o noticing till i got soap out of my eyes, and now it's gone FAT
