weeeell, they told me that in "snappy snaps" where i went to get my passport photo taken -- they may just have been making it up to amuse themselves

What? That's ludicrous, of course you can smile on your passport photo.

I think it's true that you aren't allowed to smile in passport photos. You can wear glasses if you normally wear glasses. I never use my passport but I got in renewed anyhow.

You can't smile, have to look directly at the camera so both ears can be seen, and mostly they ask you to take glasses off because nowadays they're using nasty point-and-click digital cameras with flash on. This one is marginally better than mine!

When I got my passport pix in 96, I had on glasses and was smiling.

I have to renew/get new one sometime.
