ii: dubdobdee economy not exactly booming either sigh
iii: progress learning spanish and arabic rawther minimal
iv: I just got my passport photo taken -- no glasses, no smiling -- and JEEBUS O'CRIKEY if i am not locked away at EVERY BORDER POST I PASS the authorities are entriely delinquent in their responsibilities
