A bee landed on my lap in a bus once and everyone told me to kill it, but I could tell it was just tired and eventually it went away. Insects bite me on a regular basis but I never see them (have irritating bite on left forearm even as I type this).

When I was in LA (man) a couple of months ago, a vast blundering Junebug buzzed the coffeeshop I was sitting in. It was the phreakiest thing I have ever seen - it was the size of a light aircraft! I didn't dare swat at it for fear of incurring its buzzing green metallic wrath.

i know, they're fairly startling -- especially when you discover they're native to (some parts of) the UK. I saw my first one ever in North Wales about six years ago, and went "OMG WTF aargh aar aggh!" and mum said "It's just a maybug, calm down"

I have a terrible kill ratio re: snails. I'm always stepping on them :(

I killed one by accident the other night by opening the food recycling thing. It was dark and I didn't see the snail, all I heard was a strange fizzing sound, so I got a torch and saw a bubbling snail. So sad.
