Heave a, Chief of, Jaffa, Half a, Viva!

I also do not understand K, unless it requires that people mispronounce "cafe" as "cay-fa". Nor S.

Actually after some googling I think I might understand S, provided that "S for Rantzen" is an alternative ending.

Still don't understand R, probably owing to my not understanding "mo."

mo = moment

R for mo = e.g. "(hold on) a second, (I'll be right with you)"

Hah! Now that I've got "mo" I still don't get "R for" as "Hold on." Unless when dogs go "arf arf" they're telling you to hold on.

Oh, wait, now I get it. "Half a moment." Right?

Sorry, I'm slow.

a webpage i subsequently found all this listed on with variants -- it's actually embedded in my memory since i was a kid, i can remember my dad and my uncle goin thru it when i was quite small -- referred to it as the CABBIE'S ALPHABET, meaning i guess that it's a kind of cockney joke-code
