dubdobdeei never get used to this: send the piece off -- even an early version yr not sure abt and are expectin crit -- and slump into a post-partum trough
partly it's tiredness; partly a reaction to intense focus and concentration -- a bit like when you've been driving for hours and arrive and want to sit down except you've been sitting all day and can't get yr mind to stop driving even tho you have, and yr too frazzled to do anything to turn it off -- that doesn't result in INSTANT WORLDWIDE RESPONSE... which is of course insane to expect anyway, but it's how you'd pay yrself off for the concentration, or something
i went out to meet pals, which i didn't think thru as they were all off to karaoke which a. i didn't fancy and b. there wasn't room for me anyway, so when they trooped out of the pub into the k-bar i had to just come home (not their fault; i knew this was happening)
the only time i haven't had this is my BOOK, which becky and vick organised a party for, to celebrate its completion: T has said i shd organise a little party every time i write a review but of course i'm always preoccupied, and it seems a bit steep to get someone else to!
