ps: dr vick sez i should oil my sandals and my feet for better comfort -- is this

B: some Dutch thing

D: sensible advice (given that she suggests OLIVE OIL which surely means my feet will smell like salad) (more like salad, that is)

D - Olive oil will soften the leather. It also works as a polish.

I have been known to use vaseline for a similar purpose - so I guess that's the same thing only with more processed oil.
