OK, so is the interwebs design rule that a san-serif typeface is considered more readable for body-text than a serif typeface?

(ie the opposite of the assumption for the printed page?)

based on my own eyes, this is untrue: i always convert to serif where i can, for extended reading -- and keep san serif for headlines and such

is there a PC-mac divide here? It suddenly occurred to me that Verdana is horrible simply because I always read it on a Mac (ditto Arial), which somehow heightens its fuzzy frangibility*

*or else it is MY EYES, the goggles do nothing ect ect
