laptop heal thyself

dubdobdeei: i took it to the appleshop yesterday -- they openbed it, spotted the coffeestains, pointed out that spillage voids warranty (they were nice about this, the guy looking at it admitted he had done the exact same a few weeks ago), and told me the damage -- c.£175 for new keyboad and labour inc.checking and overhaul, min 2 weeks before i got it back
ii: so i brought it home sadly and went on using the external keyb
iii: this morning i turned it on, and sadly prodded some of the keys that had stopped working -- they all worked again!
iv: (except k, and the digits 8 and 9)
v: apparently it's a little suction sweal, and liquid can break the seal irreparably -- but it might just be residual stickiness... i cleaned the keyb with glasses spray before i took it in, and this may have done the trick...
vi: so hurrah
vii: and plus i appear to have earned a plutocratic amount of money thx to people photocopying my book (this seems highly implausible unless it is a set text across all of china but i am checking it out)
