quite small boy (5?) on bus in hackney central, gazing out of window at beloved but now cavernous building bein demolished/refurbished: "what the HELL have they done to woolworths?"

it was the mix of the old-fashioned swear and the unspecific paranoia ("they") that amused me -- when his gran explained the situation (i didn't hear this bit as she was rather less voluble than him) he started lamenting that he would never get toys again
