some dos and don'ts for writers' workshops
Jun. 6th, 2008 09:58 ami: at the nice supper where everyone meets the night before don't finish off yr evenin of red wine with a coffee when yr gnna be sleepin in an unfamiliar bed in a travelodge near a busy clubbin street* and a church clock which strikes on the quarter-hour -- i got to sleep at 6 for an 8.30 wake-up :(
ii: don't assume you can pull off on-screen editing -- i wanted to do a bit of show-and-tell on how to make sluggish writing swift but just found the computer keyb set-up too unhandy
iii: DO prepare enuff material for a 2-day solo workshop when you in fact only have 90 mins as you may leave em wantin more and when you joke abt doin the 2-day workshop they will say (well one of em did) YES I WILL COME TO THAT WHEN IS IT? <--- obvious next step!!
so hurrah i guess! but i am worn out
*swansea princess street on a wednesday night! KICKIN! bizarre...
