i: i slightly suspected it was web ppl from work about a meeting
ii: didn't want to sound cross and realised as i approached the phone i wz practicing OUT LOUD sayin "hullo" in a bright cheerful non-cross way
iii: picked up the phone, sed "hullo" in a bright cheerful non-cross way
iv: it was the AA wanting to speak to Mr Dubdobdee -- "That's me"
v: "No, Mr Dubdobdee"
vi: "Yes, that's me"*
vii: "You're MISTER Dubdobdee?"
viii: "Yes, I am, MISTER Dubdobdee"
ix: "Oh, I'm terribly sorry sir I thought you were a, er er, someone else..."

*(admittedly shd have sed "I AM HE!" at this point, donald sinden-style)
