Q16: Following my leader, who or what:
i: is a Hampshire jewel?
ii: decorated Findlater's label?
iii: is meteorologically striking?
iv: houses Colum Cille's shrine?
v: could be wild duck washed down with Ch. Latour?
vi: might refer to poor Sarah's biliary obstruction?
vii: is absolutely necessary to a ram?
viii: was Anastasia's great aunt?
ix: could have been a crusader?
1x: is a musteline appendage?

the rules as they have evolved:
a: nice full answers and anecdotes if poss
b: say if googled or no; leave time for non-googlers to play
c: obviously look ahead at future questions if you want
d: don't bring in confirming or dissenting answers from other fora until next set is up and running

spoilers colum cille is st columba (i know that as google-detritus from an earlier KWQ question!) and mustelidae is weasels stoats and etc i think; anastasia's great aunt is surely victoria (she is everyone's great aunt)

ix isn't ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE or something is it?

iii is lightning the far-too-obvious answer?

Lightning?

(but this doesn't help unless ii is thunderbolt and iv is very very frightening...)

might they be nicknames of leaders/generals etc?

Might viii be Queen Victoria?

(Yes, I am determined that this will be the answer to at least one of these.)

apart from curry restaurants in portsmouth for the first answer all the others appear to be quite IRISH...

findlater's is ye olde dublin wine merchants (no clue as to who painted their labels though).

St Columba's shrine is on Iona.

perhaps the theme is not a single theme, but the answers form a chain.

"musteline" apparently includes badgers and otters as well as weasels

Would y'all like a clue as to the theme? (As mentioned yesterday, I accidentally spoilered myself on this. I should warn however that knowing the theme may not engender much enthusiasm for solving i.-x.)

Anastacia = not Queen Vic's great-niece alas, QV is her great-grandma. Her grandma Alice was covered in a different question, wasn't she?

Therefore A's grebt aunt on that side = either Victoria Jnr, Helena, Louise or Beatrice.

i assume it's "WHAT decorated findlater's label" -- ie what's on the label (except google-image suggests that the answer is the letters F, I, N, D, L etc...)

The findlater labels I've found have the Queen's arms on. Are the answers going to be Kings or Queens?
