3a: You don't want to eat me. I'm a very important person on my planet. Like a queen, a goddess even. There are those who worship me. I'm not saying this to impress you, I'm just warning you it could start a war.
3b: War? Good. That means more food for my family. All 78 million of them. linda fiorentino as a forensic pathologist and vincent donofrio as a trans-space cockroach in men in black (he should bring more of the bug into his law and order role in my opinion) ([livejournal.com profile] skyecaptain)

4a: Do you have anything you want to say to the other ______ listening out there?
4b: As a matter of fact, I do. Come out, come out, wherever you are. it is an TV journalist to the WamPyr LeStat in Queen of the Damned ([livejournal.com profile] atommickbrane) (who i was sat right beside when we both first saw it) (aaliyah gets few good lines sadly)

5 - Terminator 2?

Date: 2008-08-20 07:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dubdobdee.livejournal.com
nope! clue: the film is nothing to do with the world ending -- the character is being pretentious and teenage

I know I've seen #3. Is it "Mars Attacks!"? (I don't remember the Martians ever saying anything, though...)

From: [identity profile] dubdobdee.livejournal.com
they say stuff through the translation device but no -- clue: you'll possibly be surprised the second character speaks here also, though he actually asayus quite a lot (haha worst clue ever)

asayus = says in martian

10: Performance. (He was right.)

korrekt on both counts

another less than helpful clue for (5) is that (10) would have made an awesome sequel to (5) and one day i will write a essay on (10) proving this is exactly what it is

(5) actually does have a sequel which other people like, but not me

I realize that #3 is probably a dialogue between intergalactic-traveling insects, but I'm going to guess instead that #3A is Aaliyah in Queen Of The Damned (not that I've ever seen Queen Of The Damned, but one of these has to be Queen Of The Damned, right?).

3 is not queen of the damned; 3a is not an intergalactic-travelling insect

yup: performance is the real if2

Perhaps 3B is an insect (whether a traveler or a stay-at-home)?

So yr saying that Mick Jagger is playing Mick Travis in Performance?

(Btw, I am one of the few people I know who owns the single version of "Memo To Turner.")

Date: 2008-08-20 08:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dubdobdee.livejournal.com
not necessarily! it's possible it contains none of the same characters!

(less perversely: yes, more or less)

3b *IS* an intergalactic-travelling insect, tho he is badly disguised as a person some of the time

(Well we both agree that in if.... Malcolm McDowell's character Mick Travis is playing Mick Jagger; it's possible, though, that Mick Jagger in performance isn't playing someone who's playing Mick Jagger. In fact, I think that irl Mick Jagger at the time was trying to soften what he did.

Has anyone ever seen Ned Kelly? (It may be a film that drew 0 customers.)

The clue is in the question: 2 is Sesevenen! I would also like to claim that I'd have got 3 8 and 9 (I still use "do some crimes!")

Is it actually Se7en? I don't remember that line actually being in the movie (presumably after Gwenyth Paltrow in a box and before surprise uncredited actor killer getting capped woops [/spoiler]).
