nice weekend at dad's involving me READING a lot to him which is 1 x nu-development -- he can't read much himself anymore, cz it's physically hard for him to to control a book -- this seems to stimulate extreme dreaming on his part, as he listens in a half-doze (he is anyway between med regimes and goin off a drug notorious for blurring reality and semi-hallucination -- he had one where he thought his duvet folded in a slightly spiky way was a sleeping pet and asked me "so who is this?" -- i thought he meant on TV and said i had no idea, i had been watching but he pointed again -- i said "oh, it;s just you're duvet folded in a funny way and flattened out, he replied "yes! it had a face though -- the eyes were closed") (it was all very unanxious, and he has long been inclined to quiz you first thing in the morning about whatever dream business he just woke up from)

mum also active:

i: a bunch of plates JUMPED off the shelf and smashed when i was getting a waterglass late at night -- they MAY have been carelessly stacked by a carer, but to be honest i am lazier in this territory than most carers and it;s never happened before...
ii: a strange huge tawny bird was sitting in the garden by the appletree -- a passing car sent it off before i got close enuogh to have ca good look, but it was HUGE! like a golden eagle (except possibly a lot smaller)
iii: i called the pianotuner mum always liked -- his name was still in the book tho he must be well past retirement -- and got his mother-in-law who immediately gave me a great long story about how the internet had destroyed his business! i thought this was leading up to "and that's why he can't come out and tune yr piano, you and yr JOB-DESTROYING LJ SHENANIGANS" but she tamely wound up asking if he cd ring me back, which he did... he was very friendly and business-like (and rural); i didn't mention what she'd said in case he said "bain't been no mother-in-law round here for 40 year"
