I googled viii) - poor old Connor scored Wirral Cricket Club's only run in a match against Haslington. 3 all out and 2 of those were leg byes!

Meanwhile v) refers to SCANDAL in the D’Orsi World Senior Bowl (a top bridge tournament) where the German doctors were accused of 'reprehensible conduct' (i.e. communicating which suit to go for by coded coughing). They protested their innocence, claiming to 'have a cough' and blaming the air conditioning.
