little things, of course

first thing i thought when i got back to london: must just call dad to let him know i'm home safe

no need now

and even so, i caught myself thinking it three or four times from the time i came through the door to about halfway through the excellent (best-selling!) haggis [livejournal.com profile] piratemoggy had waiting for me: amd this despite the intense strangeness of leaving the house in shropshire wth no one in it, for the first time in many many years

Welcome back. Now I can stop putting off that post about... well, I've had a post in mind that was going to be about something, then I realized I didn't know what it was going to be about, thought to myself, "Well, when Mark gets back maybe he'll know." (Will probably do Yet Another Year In America first.)

Must be strange, walking through a landscape with critical features changed, and your feet still tread according to the familiar old map.

D00d if I go to one of the ten thousand outstanding corner shop establishments between here and there on my way back tonight to get washing up liquid, should I get breakfust croissants?

Even with my mum gone four months now, I still sometimes have the thought to phone her, especially upon waking up.
