actually i'm not sure if it is that mysterious

A: i always get post-partum blues on big pieces i've just finished, and i just finished TWO really
B: stuff at work is very VERY dispiriting -- i have to gee myself up to write a big pitch abt my aweseom skeez just to get paid properly, and the new editor i liked workin with just left under an angry cloud w.everyone else hatin her, and no one new has been even appointed yet
C: am feelin sluggish and bloated today -- i need to get back to losin weight pronto, ALL THAT FRENCH CHEESE HAS RUINED MY GAMEPLAN
D: my phonebuffies are all away or unavailable BAH HOW SELFISH
E: don't want to get down to next big writing project as is likely to be unusually confrontational and critical (for me) (of ppl i actually know)
F: i need an ROMANTIC ADVENTURE and am findin it hard to know where to start
G: the play i saw w.vick and her friend last night was a bit rub when i'd really been lookin forward to it
H: vick's mum and dad are both really ill and i won't see her for ages i think
I: it feels like i have FAR TOO MUCH TO DO and yet time hangs heavy on my hands

Am feeling thick around the waist myself, and have just eaten CHEESE, though the cheese I ate was Swiss rather than French, and is therefore less fattening, as it has holes in it.

Where is departed editor going? Perhaps you could follow her there?

i actually have a bunch of outreach projects already started -- it's just one of those days when no one is getting back to you and the world feels the wrong shape and everything you're doing seems pointless, i will be fine in the morning

I am fat as a porker right now, so I sympathize. My guess is, based on yr year so far, that the Dr V stuff is a big deal. BUT: 2 great pieces finished!! space for the next one!! (I assume it's the dalek made of...) But: chance to stick it to the man. Well, the men. OR: chance to help them overcome whatever blockage is turning them into d1cks when they start to think... If i see a copy of that David Bromwich book on Hazlitt anywhere I will totally send it to you because it is 1000000x better than the Tom Paulin and will I suspect make you love WH even more...

picking out typos in c0ntr0l this morning i delightedly spotted the section in it which will become a core (and i think potent) argt in d4l3k* -- and the upside of the daft amount of emo-hagged thinkin time put into d4l3k is that it been flooding into everything else i'm doing, viz it's ALSO all over the tribute to richard, AND in h3lv3tica!! (i should obviously get some of it into my consultancy pitch!)

so it's absolutely not been a waste of time
